Applying to the TEFL Certificate Program
To apply for our Boston TEFL Certificate Program, you must have
completed your Bachelor's degree, or have an equivalent professional
background.
If you are a non-native English speaker, you must provide a TOEFL score of
at least 100 on the Internet Based Test (iBT) or at least 250 on the
Computer Based Test (CBT). If you have not taken the TOEFL exam, you
can prepare for the exam at Boston Academy of English in our
TOEFL
preparation program. For general information on the TOEFL exam visit
www.toefl.org. If you are not able
to take the TOEFL exam and would like to demonstrate your proficiency by
another means, please
contact us.
Here are the steps for applying to the teacher training program at the
Boston Academy of English:
Please note that as part of your application, you are
asked to submit a personal statement of 300 words and a copy of your updated
resume.
2. Pay $250 deposit
A $250 non-refundable application fee and deposit is required when
applying for the TEFL Certificate Program ($50 application fee plus $200 of the total tuition
costs).

3. Pay $60 international courier fee and follow visa-application
procedures
(international students only)
4. Pay the non-refundable late fee of $100 if your application is being
submitted less than two weeks before the start of the program.
International students
requiring an I-20 for full-time study at the Boston Academy of English
must also pay a $60 courier fee as part of the
application process. Payment can be made by using one of the payment methods
listed below.
International students must follow very specific procedures when
