June 30 – Introduction to
Boston Walking Tour
Boston is a walking
city. Students will be able to see the major points of interest
in the city including parks, monuments, shopping areas, and some
historical sites. Students will also be given subway passes and
will be taken around to some of the more popular stations.

July 1 – Frisbee Golf on
Boston Common
Students will be led
in an afternoon team competition which will allow them to discover
the many statues and special places on Boston Common (the oldest
public park in America), the Public Garden, the Duck Pond, and the
Frog Pond.

July 2 – Boston Scavenger
Hunt – Newbury St. Shopping
Students will be given
a list of popular and historic sites in Boston. They travel around
the city in groups to try and be the first group to have their picture
taken at all of the places on their list. The pictures will be
printed and put in an album to remember their summer in Boston.
In the evening the
students will have a chance to shop along Newbury St which is the
most famous shopping area in Boston and also has outdoor cafes where
the students can relax after an exciting day.

July 3 – Independence Day
Parade and Fireworks
Students will travel
to a suburb outside of Boston to experience a small town celebration
of America’s birthday. They will be able to watch a parade with
marching bands, “floats”, fancy cars, and other American traditions.
As the sun sets they will watch as fireworks explode overhead.

| July 4 – BOSTON POPS outdoor
concert
Students will picnic
along the Charles River then sit back and enjoy a free concert of
classical and pop music by the Boston Pops Symphony and guest bands.
At the end of the concert the orchestra will play Tchaikovsky’s
1812 Overture accompanied by live cannons while the bells in churches
throughout Boston ring in celebration.

| July 5 – Visit the Cambridgeside
Galleria
This is a chance for
students to shop at some of Boston’s best clothing and electronics
stores including Abercrombie & Fitch, Best Buy Electronics,
and Pac-Sun Clothing.

July 6 – Visit Faneuil
Hall and Quincy Market
Faneuil Hall is one
of the oldest public speaking halls in America. Quincy Market is
an outdoor market filled with foods from around the world, mimes,
musicians, dancers, jugglers, and magicians. Nearby students will
also be able to see the powerful memorial to victims of the Holocaust.

July 7 – Soccer and Swimming
Pool
Students can choose
between playing a football (soccer) match, relaxing at a large outdoor
swimming pool, or both. The field and pool are in Cambridge away
from the noise of the city. Look for our videos on youtube (BAE

| July 8 – Tour of the USS
Constitution and North End
A full afternoon and
evening. Students will travel by ferry across Boston Harbor to
the USS Constitution, the oldest ship in the US Navy. Built for
the young Navy to fight the British in 1812, it is a chance to see
first-hand what life was like on the old wooden sailing ships.
Students will then be able to visit and walk around on a World War
II battle ship to compare the changes.
After we will travel
to the Bunker Hill Monument to get remarkable view of Boston Harbor.
To finish the day students will be taken to the Historic NORTH END
with its narrow cobblestoned streets and bakeries it is Boston’s
most famous neighborhood.

July 9 – Video Arcade,
Bowling, Billiards, and Go Karts - OPTIONAL
This is a highlight
of past students trip to Boston. Good Time Emporium is filled with
video games (Dance Dance Revolution, Guitar Hero, Racing Games),
a bowling alley, Ping Pong tables, Go Karts, Lazer Tag and chances
to win prizes among other things.
For $16 students get
40 game tokens, a ticket to ride go karts, pizza and drinks.

July 10 – Karaoke and Disco
Tonight there will
be a dance and karaoke competition in a hall at the residence.
It is a chance to laugh, sing, and meet new friends. The party
will last into the night.

July 11 – Free Outdoor
Movie
Sit beside the Charles
River and watch a popular movie (not yet announced) on a giant screen
while the stars fill the sky above.

| July 12 – Trip to Singing
Beach – OPTIONAL
Travel by train for
45 minutes to beautiful Singing Beach in Manchester-by-the-Sea.
This clean family-centered beach is located in a small town of 10,000
people. Sit on the white sands and “catch some rays” or jump in
the ocean and do some “body-surfing”.
Cost for the day is
$15 for the train tickets.

| July 13 – Whale Watch
and New England Aquarium
Students will travel
by boat miles into the Atlantic to see the largest animals on Earth.
They are guaranteed to see whales which sometimes come within feet
of the large boat. When they return to Boston they will be able
to tour the Aquarium and see seals, penguins, lobsters, and sharks
up close.

| July 14 – Tour of Harvard
University and the Natural History Museum
Students will have
a personal tour of the oldest and most prestigious college in America.
They will walk the halls and grounds that dozens of Kings, authors,
inventors and US Presidents walked when they were young. In the
evening, a tour of the Natural History Museum will show the students
the incredible collection of artifacts collected by Harvard graduates
as they traveled around the world and scientific discoveries made
by Harvard alumni.

| July 15 - Visit the Prudential
Center and Skywalk Observatory
The Prudential Center
is the second tallest building in Boston. The skywalk on the 50th
floor gives students a 360 degree view of Boston including Fenway
Park, the Charles River, Boston Harbor, Boston Common, and the Emerald
Necklace.

| July 16 – Museum of Fine
Arts
This is the largest
art museum in Boston. It holds paintings and sculpture by Renoir,
Gauguin, Copley, Picasso and others. There is also a very large
collection of Egyptian artifacts including a “mummy” and ancient
jewels and art work.
|
| July 17 – BAE Field Day
Competition
All students at the
Boston Academy of English will enjoy a picnic on Boston Common and
then compete in friendly traditional games including baseball, American
Football (no tackling), races, balloon toss, Dizzy Izzy Relay, and
quizzes. Prizes will be awarded.

| July 18 – Museum of Science
Boston’s Museum of
Science is famous throughout America for its exhibitions and focus
on “hands on science” which encourages people of all ages to experiment
and learn by doing instead of looking.

| July 19 – Trip to SIX
FLAGS
Students will ride
by bus to the largest amusement park in New England. They will
spend an exciting day on roller coasters, water slides, and rides
that will make them laugh and scream at the same time.

| July 20 – Trip to New
York City
This is NEW YORK CITY
!!! You have seen it in the movies and on TV now students will get
to see all the sights they have heard about; including Times Square,
Ground Zero, Broadway, Madison Square Garden, Central Park and much
much more.

| July 21 – JFK Museum Tour
This is the museum
and Presidential Library of one of Americas most admired presidents.
John F Kennedy reached out to the world in the short time he led
America. Born in Boston, the museum follows with movies and pictures,
the incredible life story of JFK including his time in the US Navy
and the history of the Kennedy Family.

| July 22 – Freedom Trail
Tour of Boston
Students will be given
a personal tour of the Boston of the Revolutionary War. See the
place that the struggle to be free from England began. From the
start of the Boston Tea Party to Paul Revere’s house to the places
where British soldiers camped, ate, and tried to hold on to their
colony this tour is a walk through the start of a new nation.

| July 23 – Paintball –
OPTIONAL
Students who choose
to can experience the thrill and excitement of competing against
their friends in a high stakes environment. Paintball is one of
the safest sports but allows competitors to shoot pellets of paint
at one another in a simulated fight while hiding behind walls and
barriers to keep from being hit.
The cost of $31 includes
gun, paint, and safety mask. Look for our videos on youtube (BAE

| July 24 – Basketball and
Tennis
Students can have fun
with a friendly game of basketball or tennis against one another
or relax by the Charles River and watch the ducks swimming and the
sail boats glide past.

| July 25 – Free Outdoor
Movie
What better way to
say goodbye to Boston and new friends than with a picnic followed
by a movie on a giant outdoor screen under the stars with the Boston
skyline to your right and the Charles River and the Cambridge skyline
to your left.
