Some Communication teachers have been focusing a lot on pronunciation in the higher level classes. If you have a huge vocabulary and great grammar skills, but bad pronunciation, you still have the same problem as always - people saying ‘I’M SORRY WHAT DID YOU SAY???’ Of course every students hates this. So please everyone ask for more help with pronouncing certain sounds, and most of all, listen to native speakers and try to imitate their not only the small sounds, bu the intonation as well. It’s up to you to get it really right!

Simona from Italy has realized a dream that she’s had since she was a 14-year-old girl: to study biochemistry at MIT. She started out at the BAE in an Intermediate level, moved her way up to Proficiency and then entered TOEFL. She managed to meet MIT’s very high requiredment for TOEFL and then finally passed the entire application process! She is now a full-time PhD student at the famous school that was once just a dream. Congratulations Simona!!

The Muslim tradition of Ramadan is here and we have plenty of students at the school who are joining the fasting ritual this year. These students sometimes get up very early in the morning to have breakfast and therefore are sometimes a little sleepy inclass. Don’t worry guys - student and teachers support you! Hopefully teacher’s will forget to bring Dunkin Donuts to class on Fridays! How about non-Muslim students - could you try fasting for a day or two?? Give it a try!
